Individual versus shared practice for the learning of a polyrhythm task

This is a motor learning study where we are studying how people learn together. For this task individuals or pairs will just perform tapping movements in time with a metronome to practice rhythmic sequences (ethics, # H15-00925-A013).
We are looking for participants between the ages of 18-39 years, right hand dominant, with normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing, with no known neurological or physical impairment that would adversely affect their upper body movement ability. Additionally, participants must have an adequate understanding of English in order to correctly follow instructions.
Exclusion: Because this is a learning study, we are excluding people who have had technical training in music/play a musical instrument regularly.
Participants and researchers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The study takes place across two days, with an approximate time commitment of 1-1.5hr ($15.65/hr).
Please send us an email if you're interested (preferably a UBC email), with a phone number and we will send you a consent form with more information.
Please put POLYRHYTHM, Matt, in the subject line of the email.
